There is another title (" An Inquiry into Some of the Conditions at Present Affecting 'The Study of Architecture' in our Schools') bound with the lectures. Interestingly, its publication date is 1866, while this copy has a gift inscription dated "Christmas 1865" on the FFEP. Quercus ponders the sequence. Brown cloth binding (possibly publisher's purple originally). Embossed decoration on the front cover of a painter's palette; gilt lettering on spine, rather faded. A handsome tree calf binding, with clearly visible mottled branches on both covers.
