London: Smith, Elder & Co, 1865. Hardcover. Good. First edition. 12mo. Bound in tree calf over boards, gilt spine with two (red and green) titling labels, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. Two early owner's names in ink on front fly leaf. Front board is detached with small piece of tape on left edge, gilt spine is rubbed and faded, small one-inch tear to one leaf (pp. 81-82), else very good. A handsome tree calf binding, with clearly visible mottled branches on both covers.
