Oversized hardback that reprints four issues of the fanzine of the title Bradbury produced just after graduating high school. Includes contributions from Robert A. Heinlein, Henry Kuttner, Hannes Bok, Damn Knight, Forrest J. Ackerman, etc. Provides a fascinating glimpse into Bradbury's early life, and the beginnings of several illustrious science fiction careers.

Stories indexed by titles, and again by magazine/issue, not by authors. Last interior page has five ads, including one "FUTURIA FANTASIA 10 c /contains many examples / of the humor of its / editor/ Ray Bradbury / 3054 1/2 West 12th St. L. A". One of Forest Ackerman's personal copies. Ackerman and Bradbury were great friends, and Bradbury was the lead speaker at the recent memorial service for Ackerman. A movie "The Sci-Fi Boys" details their early close relationship. Very scarce; there is one copy in the Moskowitz Collection at the University of Texas. [Note- this is not signed or marked].

First printing of the trade edition (there were also 300 numbered, limited editions). Fine oversize (about 11 by 9 inches) book and dust jacket with art by Hannes Bok. Book is bound in black boards. End papers show a collage of sepia-toned photos from the period when "Futuria Fantasia" made its first appearance. This volume contains Bradbury's first works that were printed in the first volume, four issues, of "Futuria Fantasia" a slim, pseudo-magazine that Bradbury, working with Forrest J. Ackerman and collaborating with artist Hannes Bok (1914 - 1964), edited and published himself. A hundred copies, at 10 cents, of each issue were produced during 1939 and 1940. These are reproduced in exact facsimile here, in the original green ink, with many illustrations by Bok. The issues of "Futuria Fantasia" contained many contributions by Ackerman and Bradbury using various pseudonyms. FUTURIA FANTASIA, Graham, 2007, first edition, as new in Hannes Bok dust-wrapper. 1/1,000 copies of the trade edition, this one specially SIGNED by the author. During the years 1939 and 1940, when Ray Bradbury was 19 and 20 years old respectively, he published a mimeographed fanzine which lasted all of 4 issues, each with a print run of approximately 100 copies. Many of the items within each issue were actually written by Ray himself under various pseudonyms. However, his ability to get others to contribute was anything but modest. Hannes Bok, Henry Haase, J. Harvery Haggard, Robert Heinlein, Henry Kuttner, Damon Knight, Emil Petaja, Ross Rocklyn & Bruce Yerkes as well as several others known in science fiction fandom, amateurs and professional writers alike, also gave generously of their work.
