Description:
The is a first edition from the Classics series published by International Collectors Library in 1970. The French Lieutenant's Woman is a 1969 historical novel by the English author John Fowles (1926-2005). It is about the difficult relationship between an English amateur naturalist and the independent former governess he falls in love with. It was an extremely successful novel. It has been printed repeatedly and has been adapted for stage and screen, most famously by Harold Pinter for the film starring Jeremy Irons and Meryl Streep.
This is a lovely book. It is hunter green leatherette.
It has a gilt design on the cover and spine and a bound-in silk bookmark. 480 pages.
The original owner put a bookplate on the inside front cover and then crossed out his/her name. You can either put a label over that or steam off the bookplate.
Other than that, it's in absolutely pristine condition. It is unopened and unread.

Description:
This is an excellent copy of seven complete novels by the great British novelist Graham Greene (1904-1991). This book is now approaching rare status. It includes The Heart of the Matter, Stamboul Train, A Burnt-Out Case, The Third Man, The Quiet American, Loser Takes All, and The Power and the Glory. This is a large book--856 pages. Its only real problem is due to a mistake by the printer: the dust jacket is too big for the book, so it has moved around a lot and is creased and worn. The book itself is in superb condition. There's a bump to the front cover (also from production). But it doesn't appear to have been read.PLEASE NOTE: THE STATED EXPECTED SHIPPING DATE APPLIES ONLY WITHIN NORTH AMERICA. THE SHIPPING CHARGE APPLIES TO NORTH AMERICAN BUYERS, OR TO INTERNATIONAL BUYERS WHO ACCEPT SURFACE MAIL. DUE TO PANDEMIC-RELATED SHIPPING ISSUES, UNLESS YOU PAY TO HAVE YOUR ITEM DELIVERED BY AIR, OR BY A PRIVATE CARRIER, DELIVERY CAN TAKE FROM 2 TO 5 MONTHS.

Description:
The Grey Knight: An Autumn Love Story is an Edwardian tale of romance, published in 1908 by Thomas Nelson and Sons, Edinburgh.
I doubt that it was re-printed; I can only find one other mention of it, in the archive of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France. So this is both a first edition and a limited edition.
Mrs Henry de la Pasture (Elizabeth Bonham 1866 –1945), and after her second marriage styled Lady Clifford, was an English novelist, dramatist and children's writer. She wrote 15 novels and three plays and was awarded a CBE in 1918. (Her daughter Edmee was the author of the Provincial Lady series, under the name E.M. Delafield.)
276 pages plus 11 pages of ads, 4 ½" x 6 ½" x ½"
Dark Red boards have an etched design on the cover, and black text and design on the spine. There is a little discoloration to the covers, but a professional could clean that off. There are no marks of any kind inside the book and the pages are clean and bright. There is a black and white image at the title page. And… Read More

This is a stated first edition of Italian Folk Tales, the best-selling collection selected and retold by the Italian author Italo Calvino (1923-1985). The English translation was first published in 1980 and it was on the New York Times Top Ten Best Books list for that year. It is 200 tales, of fantasy and mystery, romance and adventure.
In 1982, it was issued in paperback. This is one of those copies. It is very high quality, with lovely paper and many woodcut illustrations. It has not been opened or read and is in near-perfect condition; its only flaw is to the right edge of the front cover, where the paper is frayed a little, from improper storage. Ivan Turgenev (1818-1883) was a Russian novelist, short story writer, poet, playwright, translator and popularizer of Russian literature in the West. His novel Fathers & Sons is regarded as one of the major works of 19th-century fiction.
The three novels in this book are:

First Love (1860) was one of his most popular pieces of fiction. It is the love story of a 21 year-old woman and a 16 year-old boy.

Ivanhoe is set in 12th-century England with colourful descriptions of a tournament, outlaws, a witch trial and divisions between Jews and Christians. It has been credited for increasing interest in romance and medievalism and turning people's minds away from the Middle Ages. It also significantly influenced popular perceptions of Richard the Lionheart, King John and Robin Hood.
This copy was published in 1979 by the Heritage Club. It is blue and red boards with a brilliant gold design on the spine. Inside, there are many illustrations--in color. 471 pages.
Although it has a bookplate on the inside front cover (which you can remove), it has not been read, or even opened.

From an online synopsis:
"I am George Fox," said the fair-haired stranger. "May the Lord bless thee and awaken thee, Margaret Fell." His eyes went on searching hers. They were blue like a sailor's and of an odd shape and rather slanted. It was at this moment Margaret Fell's life took a strange and dramatic turn. For her encounter with George Fox, a virile, lust-provoking, itinerant preacher, made her feel as though a whole new life were ahead. For the first time her passion was aroused. George awakened in her a capacity for love she had never known. But was this love directed at George the man of God...or George the man? This novel is the story of the passionate, flesh-and-blood men and women who began the Quaker movement in England in the 17th century and of those who settled… Read More

Pere Goriot (or Old Goriot)is an 1835 novel by Honoré de Balzac (1799–1850), included in the Scènes de la vie privée section of his novel sequence La Comédie humaine.
