How's the Squid?A Book of Food Cartoons by New Yorker Cartoonist Jack Ziegler128 pages of Ziegler's favourite cartoons.The book is in pristine condition, except that someone drew 2 short (1") lines on the acknowledgements/data page. But I don't think it's been read. The dust jacket is in excellent condition, with just a little shelf wear.

This is a first edition of Life Diet: A Simple Guide to Healthy Eating, published in 2006. It was written by two Canadian experts: chef Erin Holm and health coach Rita Thomas.It is a simple, no-fad strategy for a lifetime of nutritional health, focusing on energy, boosting your immune system, reducing risk of disease and achieving and maintaining weight goals with no gimmicks. It is full of super-easy recipes and practical and helpful information. It has been gently used--there is some dog-earing and a few marks. 297 pages, with loads of photos.

A Literary Feast is an excellent book, a gathering of stories, essays, and excerpts that expound upon the art of eating. These 27 pieces were chosen for their literary quality and the pleasures they explore. Authors include James Joyce, Isak Dinesen, Virginia Woolf, Ernest Hemingway, Ludwig Bemelmans, Thomas Pynchon, V.S. Pritchett--there's even a story by Zelda Fitzgerald. (See photos of table of contents).
This is a copy of its first printing. There is an attractive bookplate on the inside front cover; you can either steam it off or put a label with your name on it over the signature. There is still some price tag glue on the front cover. But there are no marks of any kind in or on it--there isn't even any shelfwear.It is in near-mint condition.

Susan Mendelson is a very well-known Canadian chef, caterer and food retailer, founder and owner of The Lazy Gourmet.This is her Best Of cookbook, published in 2006.Softcover, 256 pages, lavishly illustrated.See Table of Contents photo.It was used twice, and evidence of that is on page 192 and 193 (Chocolate Frangelico Cheesecake); the original owner also noted her opinion of a recipe on page 72. It was also a gift and there is an inscription on the front endpaper, which you can remove if you like.Otherwise perfect.

This is the 1979 edition of The New World Encyclopedia of Cooking, which was first published in 1972 and was a best-seller for a long time.
Hardcover, 832 pages, weight is 4 1/2 lbs.It contains 4000 recipes and 1250 photos. Editorial includes complete menus, nutrition, cocktails, parties, microwave cooking, food processor cooking and crock cookery.
This copy has not been used, but there is a thumbprint on the front endpaper. The color of the spine has darkened a little, with time. Otherwise mint condition.

Roz Chast (1954-) is an American cartoonist and a staff cartoonist for The New Yorker. Since 1978, she has published more than 800 cartoons in The New Yorker. She also publishes cartoons in Scientific American and the Harvard Business Review.

Peter de Sève (1958-) is an American artist who has worked in the illustration and animation fields.He has drawn many covers for the magazine The New Yorker and,as a character designer, he worked on the characters of A Bug's Life, Finding Nemo, Robots and the four Ice Age films.

This is a first edition of A Passion For Cheese - More than 130 Innovative Ways to Cook With Cheese. It was written in 1997 by the prominent British chef Paul Gayler, a cheese expert and the man who pioneered 'Vegetarian Haute Cuisine'.

This is a high-quality book with beautiful photography. 9" x 10 1/2", 192 pages. It includes lots of extra tips about cheeses, shopping, preparation etc.

Aside from minor storage wear to the edges of the dust jacket, the book is pristine.

This is the second edition of Recipe Encyclopedia: The Complete Illustrated Guide to Cooking, first published in Australia in 1995.
It is a dictionary of ingredients, and it covers cooking terms, famous dishes, national cuisines and the colorful history of food. There are guidelines on choosing and using foods and 26 special sections with recipes.
It is 496 pages, packed with gorgeous photos.It weighs 4 lbs and is laminated.
It has never been used, but it was a gift and there is a note from the person who gave it to the original owner on the front endpaper (it's faint).Otherwise mint condition. Gorgeous book.

This is a first edition of Toscana Mia by Umberto Menghi, one of Canada's most prominent chefs and restaurateurs (who also owns a renowned cooking school in Tuscany).
It is a high-quality book. 10" x 10", not a lot of photos, just great recipes and some text about the region.
170 pages. This book has not been read or used and is in pristine condition.

This is one of the loveliest cookbooks I've seen--it could double as a coffee table book. It's big--10 1/4" x 14 1/3", 256 pages. It is 250 recipes from traditional Tuscan cuisine, all perfectly laid out and photographed. It also contains photographs of the Tuscan landscape and people. It was written by Lorenza de Medici, author of 30 cookbooks and owner of a cooking school in Badia (Chianti). She includes several recipes from her forebear, Catherine de Medici, who brought Italian cooking to France and is credited with creating French cuisine.This copy is an unread first edition. The dust jacket (unclipped) has a little shelfwear along the bottom; the book itself is near-mint; it has just been leafed through.
