Hardcover. 8 ½ x 11”. 263 pp, appendix of wine dealers 3 pp, ads 7 pp. Fold-out map. Black and white illustrations throughout. Fair. No dust jacket. Moderate rubbing to the boards with heavy rubbing to the tips and edges. Previous owner’s name and address in ink on the recto of the frontispiece. Open and closed tears to the tips and edges of the frontispiece tissue guard. The text appears unmarked. The binding is shaken, but still intact.

44: Vizetelly & Co, 1882. Hardcover. Very good/No jacket. Illustrated with 350 engravings. 263pp, plus appendix and ads. Covers shelfworn. A number of pages are foxed. Also included is a typed list on onion paper, of the different counties in California, The topology and character of the soil, how many wineries in the county, and the types of wines and grapes. Probably done during the forties or fifties because of the number of sweet wines on the list: Claret, Sauternes, Muscatel, Angelica, etc.; and traditional table wines: Chianti, Burgundy, Riesling, etc.
