About This Item

44: Vizetelly & Co, 1882. Hardcover. Very good/No jacket. Illustrated with 350 engravings. 263pp, plus appendix and ads. Covers shelfworn. A number of pages are foxed. Also included is a typed list on onion paper, of the different counties in California, The topology and character of the soil, how many wineries in the county, and the types of wines and grapes. Probably done during the forties or fifties because of the number of sweet wines on the list: Claret, Sauternes, Muscatel, Angelica, etc.; and traditional table wines: Chianti, Burgundy, Riesling, etc.
