During his first trip abroad in 1903, the author wrote a series of illustrated letters to his three nephews back in the States. They are reprinted here, with the drawings. Great insight into a man who truly was "amiable". This copy is signed on the half-title page by all three nephews; not numbered.

Illustrated throughout with original sketches. DJ has modest sunning to the spine , minimal chipping to spine ends, and one 1/4" closed tear to front top. Very nice. Also laid in is the original bill of sale from L.S. Ayres department store. .
