Bound in red cloth over boards with device on front and black lables with gilded lettering on the spine. A little loose, bumping to the head and tail of the spine, slight lean. Top-stain blue. Split along gutter between title page and half-title. The interior is lightly and evenly toned, it is otherwise clean and clear. A reiew copy with a tipped in sheet "To the Literary Editor" stating date of publication (Apr 19, 1954) and cost ($3.00). In original, unclipped, dust jacket, corners just creased and small chip; very good+. Blue covers with embossed symbol on front and gilded lettering on spine; corners just bumped. Interior is very clean and clear; old small pencil notes on back blank. The first book in the Library of American Biography, edited by Oscar Handlin.

This is the last volume in the trilogy "The Fortunes of Richard Mahony." First American edition, first issue in September 1929. In orignal, unclipped ($2.50), jacket in poor condition. Large chipping and tear at all corners and at head and tail of spine with darkening of the spine. Deckled long edge; all edges slightly soiled. Covers in very good condition. Orange cloth over boards with black lettering and borders. Inscription on inside front cover. Signed on the limitations page by author and engraver. Numbered in arabic numerals, #13; one of 113 copies of which 100 are numbered in arabic numerals. In original red marbled slipcase with an old french seller's wrapper. Slipcase slightly bowed, and some scuffing at edges. Light brown paper wrappers with black lettering on the spine; wrapper spine creased. Loosely laid in pages, roughly trimmed. Engravings protected by tissue paper (two with bent corners). London: Victor Gollancz Ltd, 1930. First Edition (limited). Near Fine/Very Good. Limited, signed, first edition, this being #332/400, signed by the author on the limitations page. In original, unclipped, jacket in protective sheet. Jacket with old tape repairs on verso to shore up the head and tail of spine where small chips were forming, and to secure a few short tears; lightly toned, otherwise presents very well. Bound in brown cloth over boards with a yellow label on the spine containing black lettering. Corners very slightly bumped and very minor pushing at head and tail of the spine; solid and square.
