Leo played for the Bums from 1939 to 1948, acting as player-manager during tha time. An advocate of bringing Jackie Robinson to the majors, Durocher would have been his manager had he not been suspended in spring training for the entire 1947 season for "unsavory relationships" with questionable characters.
