Fine in Near Fine DJ: The Book is flawless; the binding is square and secure; the text is clean. Free of underlining, hi-lighting, notations, or marginalia. Free of creased or dog-eared pages in the text. Free of any ownership names, dates, addresses, notations, inscriptions, stamps, plates, or labels. A handsome, like-new copy, structurally sound and tightly bound, showing no flaws. Virtually 'As New'. The DJ shows some very faint sun-blanching to the titles at the backstrip (they still remain perfectly legible); the price is intact. Very close to "As New". NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 8vo. (8.75 x 5.7 x 0.85 inches). 184 pages. Edited and Introduced by Walter Allen. Language: English. Weight: 15.4 ounces. Hardback with DJ. Percy Wyndham Lewis (1882 1957) was an English painter and author (he dropped the name 'Percy', which he disliked). He was a co-founder of the Vorticist movement in art, and edited the literary magazine of the Vorticists, BLAST. His novels include his pre-World War I-era novel Tarr (set in Paris), and The Human Age, a trilogy comprising The Childermass (1928), Monstre Gai and Malign Fiesta (both 1955), set in the afterworld. "The Roaring Queen" was written in 1936 and published posthumously in 1973.
