Archival protective cover. Clean, tight & solid book, unmarked except for former owner name stamp on endpaper and half title page. Black boards with author initials in gilt on front, blue panel and design on spine, gilt titled. Faintly sunned upper edge. Rough cut. There is a mark on the upper edge that looks like a damp stain mark but there is no water damage and no marks or wrinkling on any pages. Jacket is clean and bright;, edgeworn. Archival cover provides a protected, nice appearance. It is J.B.Priestley's belief explained here that Western man, in the past 500 years, has achieved in his literature the clearest and most complete expression of his nature, his needs, his ideas, his ideals, his fears and his love.
