Allison Snyder was raised on a dairy farm in western New York where her fascination with writing and cats began in earnest and never left. She loves to write about pies and cakes, too. Her food and pet essays have appeared over the years in Raleigh News & Observer, The Triangle Dog, and The News of Orange County. She is also a guest blogger (www.plantingcabbages.com) for a cooking school in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where she works as an assistant chef/instructor for desserts. A French major at North Carolina State University, Allison studied fiction writing there under the late Tim McLaurin. She makes her home in Orange County, North Carolina, with her husband and daughter. Lucretia Herring is a graduate of North Carolina Wesleyan University and a retired Fortune 500 banking executive. She lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, with her husband. Lu is full of ideas, and Laddie's journey of hope is one of her crazier and more enduring ones. She also enjoys Allison's pets without having to pay any vet bills. Both authors and their families like to scarf down anything Allison bakes. The authors met in a Bible study at a hotel-gone-church in Raleigh over fifteen years ago and have remained friends ever since.
