Heralded as "one of the great photo-journalists of America" by John Mariani of Esquire, writer and photographer Kerri McCaffety has exhibited her work in art galleries throughout New Orleans. Her many awards and accolades include a Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Competition gold award, two Benjamin Franklin Awards, two Independent Publisher Book Awards, and a Book of the Year award from the New Orleans Gulf South Booksellers Association. Her photographs of historic New Orleans saloons are part of the permanent collection at the Louisiana State Museum, and her work has appeared in such publications as Metropolitan Home, Oxford American, Town & Country, Historic Traveler, Colonial Homes, Southern Accents, Travel + Leisure, and the Seattle Times. A graduate of Tulane University's Newcomb College with a degree in anthropology, McCaffety has photographed studies around the world, including work in Europe, Central Africa, and Haiti. She is the author of The Majesty of the French Quarter and St. Joseph Altars and the photographer of The Majesty of St. Charles Avenue, all available from Pelican.
