Heritage Furnishings of Atlantic Canda is a story in pictures of good taste prevailing. From about 1660 to 1830, the decorative arts in Briatin reflected a revival of the aesthetics of Classicism with its universal laws prroportion. Superb taste ruled in the deisgn of furniture and the objects of daily living. During this period, the greatest furniture that Western civilization has ever known was created. Indentured British cabinemakers brought these special skills to the cities of Saint John, Frederiction, and Halifax. By the 1830s, provincial firniture of the Regency period had reached a high state of achieveent, with a wide range of furniture of the best quality being produced.
