GB: John Adam & S. Cowan, 1884. A rather attractive matching set of eight volumes in highly ornate brown cloth (lettered and patterned in gold and black). The first volume is published by John Adam of Newcastle-on-Tyne the rest by S. Cowan of Perth. Volume 1 does not have a gold star on spine indicating volume number others have 2-8 stars. Volume 1 has an old pencil inscription of 1880. 2-8 are dated 1884. Nice bright tight set but some spotting to text edges and early and late leaves. SOLD AS A SET BUT NOT KNOWN IF COMPLETE.
