Lacks top quarter inch of spine, four inch tear rear hinge, inner hinges stretched. ; Small 4to; Embossed leather, 28cm, illustrations, 11, 17, 581, 106, 762, 78p., index. **The engraved title page is The Holy Bible, According to the Authorized Version, Containing the Old and New Testaments, with Original Notes, &c. A note pasted to the front end-paper states "This Bible was presented to the Free Will Baptist Church and Society. May 11th , 1866, By Sister Currier for the use of the Desk." Hills #1422 is the closest match. Our copy was stereotyped by Connor & Cooke, printed by Charles Gaylord. The additional paginations are the Preface by T.C., Illustrations of Various Passages of the Holy Scriptures, The Apocrypha, and A Concordance by James Brown. The family record pages have not been used. .

Lacking most of flap, rear paste-down is stained and wrinkled, tea-colored stain from pages 259-140 which tapers off quickly towards the front of the book, the pages are not wrinkled, overall this is an attractive useable copy. ; 24mo 5" - 6" tall; Dark brown wallet style leather, all edges gilt, hand size, 824, 256p. .

Philadelphia, PA: DeSilver, Thomas, & Co., 1835. Book. Good. Full-Leather. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. Full calf, gilt on black title label mounted on upper spine. Leather shows typical rubbing along edges and joints, with exposure at three corners ranging slight to moderate. Former owner Mary Ann Fellows signed front flyleaf and mounted her book plate on front fixed endsheet. Main title shows several short closed tears along binding edge and may have been trimmed along fore-edge; interior generally clean, with edges typically dulled by age. Firm binding. Of the 2 plates separating Old and New, one has edge tears, and the other is incomplete. Worn but not abused, still useful..

VG. 4.5" x 3" A very good copy. leather bound with flap, however clasp for the flap is missing. cracked rear joint and missing rear end paper. has a poem glued to the front paste down and previous owners ex-libre sticker on the rear paste down. Original owners name and date (1847) written in ink on first blank page. Leather is wornand supple with wear consistant with age. Many pages have the outer edge somewhat folded due to the end flap. A very nice small bible.

DESILVER, THOMAS & CO., January 1835. Hardcover. Used - Good/No Jacket. 1837 printing. Dark green leather covered boards with gilt border and lyres in the corners. Spine is stamped with gilt title and dicoration. Back cover matches the front. Gilt edges on all sides. Previous owner's name on front endpage. Black and white frontispiece is tanned. Title page is tanned and spotted. Text block is clean and white, not tanned and smudged as are the endpages and prints separating the Old and New Testaments. Several blank pages also seperate the Testaments. Front light blue endpage is missing at the front, but present at the back. Wear to edges. Scratches on the gilt edges.

"The form in which this volume no appears is altogether different from anything which has before been given to the Public, but its originality will be found pre-eminently to consist in a laborious and entirely new Selection and Arrangement of References, in which it has been endeavoured faithfully to exhibit the Scripture as its own Expositor" -Preface. 4 1/2" x 3" inscribed, some staining on cover and toning.
