Collated complete. This work was written by Sir William Jardine and provides an ornithological study of birds of prey and a memoir of Sir Robert Sibbald, a writer of historical works who is known for his study of wales. Lizars, 1833. Hardcover. Acceptable. Lacks dustwrapper, boards are somewhat marked and rubbed to edges, especially top and bottom and front edge of spine which is showing signs of splitting. No marks or inscriptions noted, illustrated, there are 30 colour plates to text plus a colour illustration to title page and a frontespiece engraving of Pennant. Bright and clean internally with little wear, just some scattered spotting. Happy to send photos on request. Heavy book, will require additional postage outside the UK.

Contents with: black and white frontispiece portrait of Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles; hand coloured vignette title page with red grouse; 2 further title pages; advert; contents listing; Memoir of Raffles; text with 30 hand coloured plates; and publisher's catalogues bound at the rear. The binding has been rebacked relaying the original spine, and is sound and tight. The spine and the board edges are slightly sunned. The bottom corners of both boards have small bumps; top corners lightly turned. The original green endpapers are present with professional repair at the joints.
