Gilt stamped designs and title on the spine. All edges gilt. Leather is rubbed on the outer joints, cracked on the spine, and scuffed on the front cover. Staining to the edges of the yellow end sheets. Text is moderately toned and foxed. Gilt edges are faded. Hinges are good. A fair copy only.

Title-page and fifteen wood-engraved vignettes from drawings by T. Stothard after paintings by E. Landseer, Sir A.W. Callcott, C.L. Eastlake and T. Unwin. 327 pages. A very nice copy which would repair quite nicely.

The rear hinge is broken, still quite nice, the gilt blindstamped leather binding is holding. Perhaps the binding may be repaired...

Leather bound, no dust cover, with wear to the front and along the edges, corners bumped. The gilding on the cover show light wear with the name of the owner that the book was rebounded for. The front end pages has been trimmed and the illustration facing the title page is missing. Pages are unmarked with slight tanning and wear. Binding is tight. Gilded edges are bright. Published by Baudry's European Library, Paris. 1840. Overall a fine copy in nice binding
