The Aloe plant originated from the Arabian Peninsula, & grows in the tropical climate of South Africa. Although it is cultivated for agricultural & medicinal uses, it also occurs naturally in Africa.

Spine of dj has faded somewhat, title re-worked; closed tears 42, 35, 33, 31, 24, 16, 13, 12, 11, 8, 8mm with some concomitant creasing; SMALL closed chips 10x7, 5x5, 3x3mm. Book has the dj illustration of an aloe ferox pasted on the front cover, otherwise Fine. No 121 of 500, subscriber Fred Cohen. Top edge gilt. The stippled cloth looks rather like leather but is definitely cloth. xxiv plus 520 pp incl index. 76 colour photograph plates, 571 b&w text illustrations. INCLUDES a type-written sheet of the flowering times of different species. Expect extra postage.
