Engraved frontispiece in each volume, eleven engraved plates (one folding), and embellished with two engraved illustrations in the text. Uncut in contemporary quarter sheep over marbled boards (Spanish marble), smooth spines lettered in gilt. Engraved bookplates affixed to front paste-downs. Some subtle restoration to spines. Minor edge-wear. Scattered very light browning and foxing, (especially to plates), as is usually the case. Subtle repairs to short marginal tears on leafs 2E2 and 2I4.
