FIRST EDITION. An impressive example of an A. & C. Black’s illustrated travel book. Employing the local color palette of grays, browns, and blacks, with notes of red and blue in costumes and skies, Forestier achieves great atmospheric renderings of this historic area. The quality of austerity is highlighted by glimpses of colorful stained glass windows and verdant meadows.
