Heavy foxing throughout Hinges are cracked, with some exposed netting and a loose binding. Boards have been moderately rub worn. Noticeable shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are bumped and a little frayed Spine ends are crushed, with noticeable splits and chips. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.

Printed for the Purchaser, 1830. Hardcover. Good. . Volume 4 only. Full leather cover shows minor wear, tear, edgewear, rubbing, and soiling. Name of former owner / minor writing in the prelims. Pages are lightly foxed.

Chambersburg: Thomas J. Wright, 1833. Hardcover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 388pp. Full calf, red leather spine label. Covers rubbed and scuffed, contents are heavily tanned and foxed, but the text is unmarked and the text block is still bound tightly, some pencilled notations on endpapers. This is evidently a pirated edition, as we could find no reference to this title, which refers to "Animals" rather than "Animated Nature.

Severe cracking to gutters and hinges, exposing netting and causing some mild looseness to binding and pages. Light thumb marking, foxing and noticeable tanning to pages. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with visible mottling, tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has much heavier tanning with soft splitting and crushing to ends. Book has a slight forward lean.
