A Good copy in original brown cloth lettered in gold of this slim tall-format prospectus for the forthcoming limited edition volume. Contains a full descriptive page, a two-page list of plates for the volume, and eight representative color plates. The blank pages facing the plates have handwritten descriptions of the plates. The last plate has a paper clip indentation at the top edge margin. Only light other wear, but a bit musty from storage. No dust jacket (presumed as issued).

Knopf, 1923. Numbered. Hardcover. Very Good. No. 917 of 1500 copies, 500 of which were reserved for the U.S. 4to in 3/4 vellum on checkerboard patterned paper, gilt ruling to the boards, spine title in gilt, 152 plates with explanatory tissue guards. Binding tight and square, virtually no rubbing, vellum a bit darkened, plates XXXVIII and XXXIX are not detached but the lower portions protrude beyond the foredge a couple of millimeters. And the original box is present. It's covered in patterned paper on fairly heavy cardboard. The bottom is entirely intact, no separations, but a few chips to the paper. The top of the box is missing two of the side panels, the other two have been repaired.
