Please See All Photos. ~ 2004 - Reprint The first edition of this controversial book caused an international scandal by claiming that almost one million German prisoners of war had died of starvation in American and French death camps after World War II. Description:
Bolton, ON: Little, Brown and Company, 1999. Soft cover. Very Good. Clean, tight, unmarked; name blacked out inside front cover with a little bleed through to the facing page; light wear to edges; single light crease to spine; otherwise very minimal wear; The 1st edition of this book caused an international scandal in 1989 by revealing that almost one million German prisoners of war had died of starvation in American and French death camps after WWII. Millions of German survivors applauded while serious academics, the American and French governments and some journalist attacked Bacque for exaggeration. None however could explain how many prisoners died, or why. This revised edition presents relevant new material on the deaths plus new evidence of the suppression of truth by academics, press and governments throughout the West.
