The Lost World is a science fiction novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930). It was originally published serially in the Strand Magazine, in 1912, and the character of Professor Challenger was introduced in this book. It is about an expedition to a plateau in the Amazon basin of South America where prehistoric animals still survive. The novel also describes a war between indigenous people and a vicious tribe of ape-like creatures.
This is part of the Good Reads series, published by Dalmatian Press in 2004. It is a luxury edition, of sorts, with a high-quality cover, nice paper, and attractive modern type.
