In 260 pages, with the tales roughly arranged by topic or theme. From 1979, this First Edition trade paperback has brilliantly colorful decorative wrappers & is in VG+ condition--very clean, binding straight & strong, pages white. Only flaws are light creasing to back cover & some rippling at top edges of about 10 pages where someone had marked them with paper clips (see Fig. 5). This lovely little book features 11 stories or remembrances of H. M.Tomlinson who grew up in the Poplar District on the river Thames. Tomlinson was a travel writer, war correspondent, essayist and novelist whose deep roots in the Dockside life of sail and steam ships greatly influenced his writings.
Boards are in excellent condition with some minor bumps to corners. Embossed design and tittles are bright. End papers are colorfully designed. There is a small closed tear on the verso of the title page (see image). There is a dedication in ink on the half-title page that appears to be in German or a Scandinavian language.
