Engraved frontis of Woburn Church facing title page with hand coloured crest. 140pp. Original paper covered boards with fine rebacked in tan leather and green label. There is an interesting copperplate manuscript on the final blank which records details of the chapel (?) on the reverse of an advertisement announcing the opening of the Shew-Room at the Abbey opening for the sale of Millinery, Dresses etc. A very good and attractive copy.

A very attractive set.Ellis was a religious author who wrote mainly about women's role in society. She is well known for her works: The Women of England, The Mothers of England, and The Daughters of England, and established Rawdon House, a school for young ladies.
