Rowman & Littlefield, Totowa, New Jersey, 1973 (re-print edition- originally published 1908), 8vo., 335 p. red cloth binding. Ex-library copy.
Binding is very clean & straight. professional binder's repair tape on front & rear hinge. Ex-library copy = tape ghosts, stamps(4), pocket roughly removed from rear end paper. No hint of any underlining or markings in the text. Clipped jacket is in quite nice shape, save for chafing along upper extremity, a short crease and a small area of sticker residue to front inner flap. No tears or chips; only very minor wear at spine head & tail. The only illustration or engraving in this volume is that of the fantastically lurid Heath Robinson frontispiece; perhaps worth the price of admission alone.

spine cocked, edgewear & soiling to edges yet most of the front & reverse is relatively clean. Internals are clean. Unclipped wrapper has a closed 30 mm tear to front at the top. A lima bean size chip is present at the spine tail(this is 'remedied' by matching purple backing paper(this time however, fixed into place by tape). There are several other tape re-enforcemnts at flap folds etc. A Good+ only jacket with rubbing, but is 95% intact and spine doesn't appear to have been faded.

book is at least "Very Good+"; there is light edgewear and foxing to top & fore edges. Internally clean. Unclipped wrapper has 30 & 40 mm closed tears* to upper edge of front. A much smaller closed tear is present at spine heel. Some loss at spine head. Rubbing to hinges and to flap folds. A hint of soiling to reverse.
12/2023 *unfortunately, these tears have been mended internally and externally.

Some age toning to extremities, but binding is clean and corners are straight. Internals very clean. Unclipped wrapper has a few short tears and small chips along with a bit of soiling to reverse. No internal tape repairs. Overall, book is in Near Fine antiquarian condition.

beautiful magenta colored cloth binding; staight as an arrow, square & tight. Thick heavy pages are clean and spotless. Unclipped wrapper is in fine shape save for fading to spine. Format is Question & Answer; with much of the material coming from Psychic magazine as well as assistance from the American Society for Psychical Research and the Parapyschology Foundation. Extensive bibliography(at least for this type of work!). A very nice copy for your shelf.
Provenance: Nicholas C. Bishop-Culpeper- from the library of English bibliophile & Aleister Crowley scholar "Ol' Nick" (1942-2011) with his book label affixed to front pastedown.

book's binding is clean however all four corners are curved in and there is a bump/crush to the spine. Unclipped, rubbed, dust-dulled wrapper is in very good conditon with normal light wear at spine head/tail and light chafing along upper extremity.

10 x 7.5" (Royal Octavo.) binding is clean, straight, tight & square; albeit with minor edgewear and light foxing to all edges. Internals are clean & unmolested save for a gift inscription in ink to flyleaf/ffep. Unclipped wrapper (no price printed) is very nice with only the slightest hint of rubbing; no tears, chips or creases.

Some small brown stains are apparent on the front wrap & spine. No tears, creases, or other chips. Interior pages are clean.

Impeccable copy! Glossy wraps; super tight binding; UNread!! For the purist however there are remainder marks (two black slashes on top edge). So, it descends from its lofty position to a "Near Fine".

Book is nice and square; tightly bound.
Boards are flat/straight with no warping.
Spine is faded and has foxing.
Jacket has external & internal tape re enforcements on spine head & tail & is clipped. Spine is faded and there is a long crease along the top. The reverse is quite clean and free of soiling and rubbing.
