London: Histories & Mysteries of Man Ltd, 1989. Reprint. Hardcover. Fine condition. Quarto. Volume 1 : 12pp. ( XLIX ). Volume 2 : (iv) 57pp. ( LXXIX ). Red faux leather boards with gold lettering, ruling and tooling on the front cover and spine. Volume 1 has 47 plates of discoveries in 1898, Volume 2 has 79 plates; both show ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, temples, floor schematics, figurines, pottery, jewelry, contents and art in the burial chambers of Hierakonpolis. New edition double volume containing both the first and second original volumes from 1900 and 1902 consecutively. Quibell begins with desrcription of the Hierakonpolis site, early stone work, the Temenos area town, the fort and the cemetery. He also describes the discoveries and ancient objects found therein ( e.g. plates, figurines and pottery etc. ).
