Carlson" on free endpaper. Carlson was an amazing individual, who practiced medicine while coaching the Pitt Panthers basketball team, for thirty years, while essentially winning the national college championship in at least two seasons. This book came out the same year the Panthers were undefeated. Carlson innovated the Figure 8 offense, and was inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame and the Helms Foundation Basketball Hall of Fame. He also coached the team in the first-ever televised basketball game in 1940. With diagrams.
