There is a small stain to the top edge of the title & a piece out of its bottom corner, else the contents are very good. <p>The introductory note states that "the exercises [at the First Annual Meeting] were mainly commemorative of the birthday of Washington", and the addresses in this pamphlet concern Washington, the Revolutionary War and slavery in the colonies.

There is foxing to the versos of the frontispiece & the last plate with 2 tiny stains to the front margins of 2 pages. There are a few pencil markings to page 10 & a small, light stain to page 11. There is a previous owner's name & address on the front endpaper. There is a tear along the front hinge at the title page. Good. <p>First edition.<p>Together with Mrs. Harriet Christie, Lucy Elizabeth Jones ran a summer camp and Bible School which moved to various locations, finally finding a home in the Helderberg Mountains of New York State where it was named Camp Pinnacle.

Bound in full red morocco titled in gilt with gilt roulettes on the spine and with floral gilt decorations within a triple-ruled gilt frame on the covers. All edges are gilt. The covers are rubbed and a bit scuffed. [iv] & 538 pages, illustrated with 2 folding decorative seating charts (one for each house of the legislature). The folding charts are torn, but complete. The text block is cracked opposite the title page and at page 16. There is some minor dampstaining to the top corner of the last several pages, with heavier staining to the top edge of the rear endpaper and pastedown. Good.

The spine & extremities are darkened with the head & tail of the spine lightly chipped. The covers are rubbed & stained. 37 & [1] leaves, printed on one side only. There is an illustration in black & white on each leaf, followed by some brief text & a quotation. There is a gift inscription dated 1873 on the front endpaper. There is occasional foxing & light soiling with staining to several pages. Good. <p>A fictionalized account of a summer in the country in upstate New York with delightful illustrations. Among the locations mentioned are Sharon Springs, the Mohawk Valley and Otsego Lake in Otsego County.
