The wraps are partially detached with a long tear to the lower half of the spine, a piece out of its tail & a large piece out of its head. 95 pages. Illustrated in black & white with a frontispiece, 6 plates [5 of them folding], 2 folding charts and 19 full-page illustrations. There is some staining to the preliminaries with a piece out of the top corner of the front endpaper. The top page corners are bumped & the front margin of page 87 is chipped.
