Article by the prolific English abolitionist politician and lawyer which first appeared in The Pamphleteer, this edition retaining the original pagination though with separate title page. Ten years prior Stephen and his brother-in-law William Wilberforce had successfully campaigned in favor of a bill banning British subjects from aiding or working in the international slave trade, the Slave Trade Act receiving royal assent in March, 1807. The present article argues in favor of a declaration made in Vienna in which several countries agreed to enforce a "universal ban" of the slave trade. This title not in Work. Zofia Na kowska was a major intellectual figure, activist and author in Warsaw, particularly during the days of the interwar Polish Republic. In addition to presiding over one of its most prominent literary salons, she penned many essays and novels, the latter often taking on psychological or political themes. Kobeity (1906, translated 1920) is actually a compilation of three novels exploring feminine psychology, including her 1904 debut Lodowe pola (Ice Fields).

At head of title: Collection Edmond Jaloux. Autobiographical novel by the Belgian author and founder of the influential periodical "Signaux de France et de Belgique" (later "Le Disque Vert"). Though this is a psychological study of childhood, Hellens was also a major figure in Belgian magical realism, and while mostly forgotten by American readers, he was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature four times throughout his career.
