With a 6 page dedication to the Duke of Argyle and 173 pp text.Pages 161 – 166 omitted in the pagination but text and register are continuous. Armorial bookplate of the noted British politician and ex- Governor of New South Wales, Sir Robert William Duff on the paste down fep. Full leather binding with small cataloguing slip to foot of spine. Boards are generally scuffed but in tact and good. Crack along spine/top board but board attached. Light foxing throughout. A good copy.

The Hudson's Bay Record Society. Volume XIV in Hudson's Bay Record Society series. Numbered 1055 of a limited Edition which is issued only to subscribers to The Hudson's Bay Record Society. Excerpt: "A journal of the most remarkable Transactions and Occurrences on a Journey from and to York Fort and at Cumberland House from 23d August 1775 to 28th July 1776 kept by Mr Matthew Cocking." The interior pages are clean with most pages uncut, untrimmed and the top pages gilt. There is light foxing to the fore- and lower page edges.

In cloth covered slipcase which is foxed with a 5cm split to side of spine. Rebound in full velum boards with new endpapers. Browning from pages 5 to 15. Foxed throughout. Small round stain mark on last three pages.

Caspari Fritsch. Name of owner on front free end page with some lettering on paste-down. A. Corn. Celsi was a Roman with an almost encyclopedaedic knowlege on medicine whose treatise stands as a best source for understanding Roman medicine. He was a major figure in the study of the origins of ancient medicine. 5 decorated compartments on spine - with title in gilt lettering on orange in one compartment. Red tint to all edges. Engraved illustration of A Corn Celsus (Celsi) as frontispiece and an illustration on Page 599. Scattered foxing with some age-toning. 777 Pages. Condition: Very good for its age. Binding: Hardcover. Speckled boards with leather spine and corners. Edge-wear with bumping and fraying to corners and top edge of spine. Abrasions and a few marks to covers. Evidence of insect damage to top edge of rear board.

Archibald Constable and Co., 1931. Previous owner's stamp on front free end page. Foxing to front and rear prelims as well as top and fore-edge of pages. Discolouration mark to lower gutter area of the prelims.

Justus Perthes. With an appendix: Dr Wangemann's Reise in Sud-Afrika 1866-67 and an original map of the Transvaal Republic. It was the first topographic map of the territory compiled locally from farm diagrams and other information, including a compilation started in 1866 by Carl Mauch. Some foxin g to the first 5 pages. The map has reinforcing with masking tape over a weak crease on the verso and some minor foxing on the verso.
