Akron, OH: The Saalfield Publishing Company, 1936 Book. Illus. by Photos. Good Plus. Soft cover. Authorized Edition. 9 1/2 x 10 Oblong. Original pictorial colour card covers. Some corner wrinkles and age toning. Text takes Shirley through a "typical" day, from her home to the studio, to lunch with Mother in her own four-room bungalow, a nap, "school" with her private teacher, then home, where she waits for Daddy to get home from his work at the bank. They play croquet before dinner, and after the meal there is always a story. In the summer, older brothers George and Jack are home from university and military school, so they might invite Shirley for some football. 32 stapled pages..

Toronto: Clarke, Irwin, & Company, Limited, 1958 Book. Illus. by B/W Photos. Very Good. Hardcover. First ( No Additional printings). 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Original grey cloth on boards. No writing. The only blemish I see is the remains of a price tag on DJ cover (The remains might be removed with water or steam). The introduction by Herbert Whittaker is masterful as he praises and lambastes the various actors. The photographs are so stolidly staged as to appear to be carved in wax if not in stone. To this recent immigrant "from away" (I came from Ohio over 40 years ago), seeing Don Harron greet William Shatner in The Taming of the Shrew brought wildly incongruous visions of Charlie Farquarson aboard USS Enterprise ! At any rate, this book will bring memories to anyone lucky enough to have visited Stratford's famous festival. 72 pp..
