Octavo in light tan cloth lettyrede abd decorated in green and violet and with oval tipped on color illustration of the title characters at ship's rail. 347 pp. two pp. of adverts at rear including one for two L. Frank Baum titles "Books for Older Children". A tight , very good or a bit better example, minor wear at the head edge of the spine. "Edith Van Dyne" was one of the pseudonyms (in this case used for the "Aunt Jane" series) used by L. Frank Baum for his non-Oz books.

Hardcover in green cloth decorated and lettered in black. 251 pp. Later printing, carrying the 1927 Saalfield imprint only though the first was 1913. A tight, bright example, pages embrowned as usual iwth these more cheaply produced reprints. In color illustrated dust jacket, some wear about the tips and spine extremities.

Manuscript. Holograph transcription of two stanzas of Van Dyke's famous patriotic poem "America For Me", in ink on recto only of a single sheet and signed in full by Van Dyke at the bottom. Consists of the third and sixth (and final) stanzas, beginning "Oh, London is a man's town, there's power in the air; And Paris is a woman's town, with flowers in her hair...". The famed final verse reads "Oh, it's home again and home again, America for me!/ I want a ship that's westward bound to plow the rolling sea/ To the blessed Land of Room Enough beyond the ocean bars/ Where the air is full of sunlight and the flag is full of stars." According to Van Dyke's biography by his son Tertius Van Dyke, the poet, growing homesick after a year in Europe, composed the piece while vacationing in Gstaad. In addition to the three-dimensional Hoggett's Farm barnyard, it features seven free-standing characters and a farmouse with moving parts.
