1853. This was from a report (not present) from the 32nd US Congress (1st session), Senate Ex. doc. No. 112), multisheet (joined; folds as issued) with original hand-colored outlines. It is in excellent condition (not easy to find like this, given the usual acidic paper and tendency to fragile crease junctures with this material), and is very handsome chart with nice views of the Bay of Fundi, Gaspe, Maine, New Brunswick and the islands of Anticosti, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward and Newfoundland. It is large, measuring 26.5x46 inches. .

London: Edward Stanford, 1901. VG+ 40 panel linen backed chart, quite striking, with original color. A single right sided fold separation (in an area of text) has been repaired verso with clear archival tape. Channel Islands clearly shown. The updates to 1901 are on printed sheets attached to verso, per the publisher. The case for this folding chart is in VG condition,, with some rubbing to edges. The map has various details of weather, magnetic bearings and distances, lighhouses, channel dangers. There is a nice diagram of the system of buoyage. The full image measures 21x43 inches, and would be very handsome if framed. (General Reference: National Maritime Museum of Britain, Lockyer Collection, Dated 1900-1915. Lockyer commanded the battleship HMS Implacable in the Mediterranean and Adriatic Seas during World War I, and saw action with the ship during the Dardanelles campaign in early 1915.) .

Paris: Chez Didot, 1754. Fine, b&w with folds as issued. Small sailing chart by Bellin from Prevost's "L'Histoire Generale des Voyages". This was from a 1754 edition as specified. It is a simple chart, without much inland detail and some depth soundings. There is a detailed key to coastal landmarks, with a small plan of the Fort St. Diego. The map image is 19x15 cm (7.5x6 inches). Bellin worked for the French Hydrographic Service (the first national service of its kind) for over 50 years, and had a prolific career (see Moreland & Bannister's "Antique Maps")..

Paris: Bonne, 1780. VG+, B&W (as issued) engraved map of this island, This is a nice image, with 4 scales. Bonne was a major mapmaker of his time, working with the French Hydrographic Office. This map is from "Atlas de Toutes les Parties Connues du Globe Terrestre...". The image is 21x32cm (8.25x12.5 inches). .
