Kobiki-Cho, Tokyo: Kabukiza Theatre, presumed Publisher. Wraps. Fair. no date, perhaps 1903. Printed wraps. 9 pages. Page 8 blank, with Japanese characters on the last page. Otherwise all text in English. A summary of scenes and acts, with a little printed dialogue of several plays performed at the Kabuki-za Theatre in Tokyo in 1903. This includes Kasuga-No-Tsubone, Suo-Otoshi and Onna-Date Komagata Osen. These were apparently performed by Ichikawa Danjuro IX, a noted Kabuki actor of the Meiji Period, and considered a key factor in the continued popularity of Kabuki theater at that time (see Wikipedia). May, 1903 was Danjuro's last performance (he died in September of that year). The Kabuki-za Theatre was built in 1889 and rebuilt in 1921, continuing the Kabuki theater to the present. Minor soiling and offsetting to the endpapers, as well as a previous owner's attractive bookplate (that of Elisabeth Foster and Arthur Graham Carey). Small gift inscription in pencil on the first endpaper.

No Place: No Publisher. Unbound. Good. No publisher, place or date, perhaps circa 1879. Printed by the Forbes Co., Boston. Cards measure 5 ¾ by 2 ¾ inches and are printed on thin card stock. Obverse depicts characters from the drama "My Partner" in black and white against a gold background, with the reverse containing blurbs and praise for the play and actors. Characters depicted are: Mary Brandon, Grace Brandon (2 copies), Josiah Scraggs. My Partner was a drama by Bartley Campbell that debuted in 1879. It was a melodrama on mining camp life in the US West and a love triangle that resulted in murder. Somewhat notable for the play was that the young woman, Mary Brandon got pregnant before marriage, and rather than have her character meet a tragic end as Victorian convention would have it, she ended up living happily in the end. Teegan was a professor of history and English literature, as well as principal of the Central Training College in Dublin. VERY GOOD condition. Minor scuffing and fading to the covers, with light soiling to the rear cover. Interior clean and solid with light fading to the pages.

With a facsimile of the title page and two other preliminary pages, with the font in the book replicating the font of the original. Nice reprint of this piece of early English drama. In a plain brown paper jacket perhaps supplied by the previous owner, having some soiling wrinkling, edgewear to the extremities. Some foxing and darkening to the book covers. Minor edgewear. Text clean and solid with a previous owner's signature in pencil on the ffep and some darkening to the pages.

Includes brief instructions on the costumes, as well as cast lists for London, New York and Providence, R.I. performances in 1857. A play set in the early part of Louis XVI's reign. Edmund Falconer, (or Edmund O'Rourke) was an Irish writer and playwright, gaining fame for his London staged plays, as well as becoming a noted actor in the 1860's. In GOOD condition. General fading, minor soiling and creasing to the wraps. Small stain on the lower rear cover. Light scuffing along the extremities with a small chip to the upper left front corner. Minor foxing to the interior.

A program for a 1907 performance of the Elizabethan burlesque "The Knight of the Burning Pestle," including a list and photos of the cast members, as well as photos of cast members from other plays recently performed by members of Delta Upsilon. GOOD condition. Mostly minor wrinkling and creasing to the covers, with minor soiling and toning. Several small tears along the fore edge.
