Filmed by the painter-filmmaker Julian Schnabel who was nominated for a best director Oscar. There is staining to the front & back pastedowns due to the former owner's gluing the flaps down using rubber cement. Thats a n-no. There is also very faint staining on the verso of the flaps.and a stain to the bottom of the back endsheet. Vg/near fine.

The 1st paperback edition of the famous tale about a scientist whose will is taken over by the brain of a devious mean millionaire who uses the scientist to murder his enemies. Filmed several times, the most famous being the 1953 version that starred Lew Ayres & Nancy Davis before she married you know who. Nice color lurid artwork cover that has a faint crease where the book was opened, a tiny scratch and a small bookstore stamp on the 1st pg. Vg.

New York: Grosset & Dunlap, 1941. Reprint Edition . Cloth with Dustjacket. War time reprint edition of the popular Dr. Kildare Series. This one was the basis for the movie "Dr. Kildare Goes Home" one of the many films that M.G.M. made based on the novels. In the early 60's Richard Chamberlain made a name for himself playing the dashing doctor in a popular television series. The very nice Leo Manso dustjacket has a touch of light wear: a few tiny bottom tears, a tiny scrape on the letter E of the title and a tiny small hole on the white back panel of the dustjacket. The cheap war time paper is as usual browning with age, but there are no chips or wear to the interior of the book. Fine/vg+

A novel that was published only in paper format about bad boy and girl junkies and the terrible things they do. Made into a memorable film by Gus Van Sant with Matt Dillon and Kelly Lynch giving terrific performances. Fine.

Laid in the book is a bookmark advertising the film and a note and calling card from a V.P. at HBO in which she thanks someone for coming in to see the film. Fine/fine. Also included is the ADVANCE READER'S EDITION which is stated as a first edition. Very faint touch of soiling to the top edge, otherwise this appears to be an unread copy. Sold as a collection.

Illustrated with 1 fontispiece still and 6 interior stills. There is soiling and chipping to the cloth along with an old tape mend. The insides are vg. with some average light wear for a 77 year old cheaply produced book. The dustjacket is nice and colorful with some light chipping to the edges with a small 2" piece missing from the bottom of the spine panel but the title and author's name is intact. vg/vg.
