New York: Henry Schuman, 1951. NOT a library discard. Good condition in a Good dust jacket. NOT price clipped ($3.50). The jacket has a narrow line of brown stain at the spine and a few small edge chips. Looks better than it sounds. Corners of the cover are a little bumped, but NO pages are affected (i.e. there are NO page creases). Two previous owners' names on the front free endpaper. Two underlines on title page. All other pages are clean and unmarked. 1951. First Printing of the Revised Edition. Well illustrated with 48 figures in the text, and with 5 plates on glossy paper, inserted. The author was a professor of Zoology at the University of Chicago; later Head Professor of Biology, University of Florida. Tables. Footnotes. Bibliography. Index.
