Description:
San Francisco: City Lights Books,, 1960. First edition, first printing (priced 35c), one of 2,000 copies printed and now quite scarce. "Rimbaud" first appeared in Yugen no. 6 earlier the same year. Rimbaud was the gold standard for the kind of poets the Beats wanted to be. Sal Paradise in On the Road tries to encourage Dean "that he can do anything... become the greatest poet since Rimbaud". Broadside folded in fifths (128 x 130 mm). Yellow paper printed in black. Folds lightly toned, a near-fine copy of an ephemeral work. Charters A14.
