Containing delightful illustrations from Hale throughout. A very smart edition of Susan Hale"s "Inkings for Thinklings". Hale originally created and bound "Inklings for Thinklings" herself  for a benefit fundraiser for the Sanitation Commission in Boston in 1865. The one of a kind book was then sold off to the father of Caroline P. Atkinson. Ms Atkinson arranged for a facsimile reproduction of the original work to be published as this edition in 1919. Susasn Hale (1833 – 1910) was an American author, traveller, and artist. She travelled extensively, sketching and visiting the galleries of the world.
