New York: Baker and Scribner. Good. 1849. First Edition. Hardcover. Book is slightly cocked. Covers are lightly faded and lightly rubbed. Half-title, title, last few pages, and frontis are foxed. Other pages have traces of foxing. Pages opposite the plates have light transfer of browned image. .

Some looseness to binding, notably at frontis where frontis and tissue guard have separated from sewn binding. Pages with some wear and aging, particularly spotting to endpapers and edges. Illustrations present and intact, but with some age spotting. This is most notable to the frontispiece. Some old ink markings to blank endpages, including residue from a removed nameplate or sticker. All plates present, clean and intact, with Plate #2 (Lake Colden) mostly detached from sewn binding. THE ADIRONDACK; OR LIFE IN THE WOODS, Scribner, Armstrong & Company, 1875, 461 pages, new addition with added matter, some light wear to the base of the spine and three of the four fore edge corner tips, else a tight vg copy. Illustrated with 8 plates along with the first time ever published map of the entire region of this part of upper New York state which has been torn but easily mendable. A curiously uncommon book in the market place.
