More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Mild creasing to gutters and hinges. Some looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild sunning and scuffing overall. Spine has light sunning with soft crushing to ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Unclipped dust jacket with minor rubbing, chipping and tearing to edges. Moderate tanning and scuffing overall.

The green covers are bright with light wear only to edges. The dust jacket is in Very Good condition with light edge wear and chips to the corners and to the bottom of the spine. The top of the spine has a small piece missing. The attached scan shows this in detail. A very attractive copy. The jacket is now in a protective mylar. Synopsis: A small girl is sent to Ireland to stay with her grandfather on an island in the west, while her father goes off to America to make his fortune. Ethne is stranded in Dublin, but is befriended in the large-hearted Irish way by a delightful and brilliantly drawn family....
