Eary novel by Fraser, a comparatively obscure, if prolific, writer of mystical fantasies. This novel imagines the life in peopled scenes the author observed in paintings on Chinese porcelain vases at the British Museum. The dust jacket misspells the author's name as "Frazer" on the front flap and rear panel.
