Pages with some foxing and tanning, particularly to endpapers and textblock edges. Binding remains firm. Previous owner's name to front pastedown and small bookshop label. Boards have moderate shelf wear with mild bumping and fraying to corners and crushing and fraying to spine ends. All surfaces tanned and sunned, particularly spine. Gilt lettering to spine is dulled but remains brighter on front. Boards are slightly bowed.

Spines marked with white numbers toward bases. Spines are soiled, with wear to ends (damage to base of Vol. II is more acute). Moderate wear to boards, mostly in form of bumped corners. Books are structurally solid for the most part; one leaf of plates (pgs. 171-174) is detached from binding of Vol. IV. International/expedited shipping will require additional postage due to bulk.
