Black and white illustrations throughout by Thomas Bewick. Black and white portrait frontispiece by Peter Reddick. Pages remain bright and clean with minimal tanning and foxing. Pages with some foxing and tanning, particularly to endpapers and textblock edges. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate shelf wear with mild bumping and fraying to corners and rubbing to spine. Gilt lettering to spine is slightly dulled. Slipcase has light edge wear with minor marking to panels.

With the final revised version of his famous “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud.” Ink name of Henry Reed on front blank of second volume with several small ink corrections in the first volume. Likely the Henry Reed (1808-1854) who was a professor of English literature and vice provost of the University of Pennsylvania.
