Original mottled calf with elaborate gilt-stamped spine, all edges red; heavily worn, boards showing at edges, covers loose. Internally good. Scarce. These two parts contain the Belles-lettres: being vols. 3 and 4, of the catalogues by De Bure [or Debure or Bure] (1731–1782), the noted French printer, bibliophile and bookseller, who here describes a vast library of rare and unusual books from the 14 century up to his era, including grammar, rhetoric, poetry, mythology, philology, etc. These two volumes are complete in themselves.
