Each vol. has some flecking on all edges and the four vols are now protected in clear archival covering. The volume number of each book is annotated by the number of white stars on the front of each d/w, each volume is clean and bright being devoid of any notations from prior owners, so the set of four volumes (revised from the six vols in the 1920's) are together rated as very good to near fine.
